What We Do

What We Do!

The Republican Woman is concerned about many aspects of American life. The Orange County Federation of Republican Women has a breadth of activities to meet these challenges. A few are listed here:

Legislation:

This is one of the most important areas of interest to women in the Federation. The California Federation has developed a legislative advocacy program in Sacramento which is supported by local clubs. Annually, CFRW sponsors an Advocacy Workshop in the State Capitol where those attending witness government in action. Each local club has a Legislative Chairman, as does the County Federation, to inform members of current legislation and key bills to watch. this is an excellent way to become knowledgeable on legislative issues.

Campaign and Precinct:

The Federated Woman plays a major role in the election of Republican candidates at all levels of government. Many local clubs maintain Campaign Headquarters during election years. Their involvement includes registering voters and the all important Get Out The Vote effort (GOTV).

Campaign and Precinct work is one of the most important activities of our Federation. We begin with ensuring we undertake voter registration activities in our county and follow up with GOTV (Get Out the Vote Activities) throughout the campaign and especially in the last "72 Hours" before an election.

Community Involvement:

Republican women have long been known for volunteerism. The National Federation's "Caring for America" program encompasses a wide variety of activities designed to help the needy. Helping the homeless and working to increase adult literacy are two volunteer projects that reflect the compassion of the Republican Party for those who face adversity and who are in need.

Leadership Training:

Many women in the Federation serve in key positions of the Republican Party. Campaign Management Schools, Women Candidates Seminars and Polling Schools offered by the National Federation of Republican Women aid in teaching the skills needed to hold leadership positions in campaigns at every level. A general understanding of politics can be acquired through active participation.

Pat Nixon Scholarship:

OCFRW also sponsors a $1000 Scholarship to qualified Republican women over 25 to further their education for career advancement.
